Faith
Formation - Adults
RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults
RCIA is the process by which non-Catholics or
Catholics who are not fully initiated into the Catholic faith
become full members of our faith and our Church.
Catholic adults who would like to know more about their faith,
and family members of Catholics who would like to understand
the belief of their family members are also welcome to "Come
and See" what the Catholic Church is all about.
Informal inquiry sessions are held every Tuesday at 7:00 PM
in the parish offices.
For more information call Jen at the parish office 732-370-0500
Bible
Study
Classes are held every 2nd & 4th Tuesday (11:00
AM) and Wednesday (7:00 PM) of the month. We take an informal
look at Scripture, with a Roman Catholic perspective.
We study various passages from both the Jewish and Christian
Scriptures, looking at aspects including the historical and
cultural background, the audience, the author, the message intended,
the type of literature, and other elements that shed light on
what we are reading.
All are welcome, please bring your own Bible (if you do not
have one, we will supply you with a copy).
For more information call Jen at the parish office 732-370-0500.
Baptismal Prep classes are held on the first Wednesday
of each month at 7:00 PM in the school cafeteria.
Parents of children who are going to be Baptized in our Parish
are asked to attend. Covered in each class is theology of the
Sacrament, a walk-through of the Baptism ritual, and some discussion
of how we, as Catholics, can live out our Baptismal Call. To attend a session, please register at the Parish Office
by calling Annie at 732-370-0500.
A very large part of our community is made up
of senior citizens. Many of our parishioners are homebound,
or find it necessary to live in assisted living centers.
We have formed a ministry in order to continue bringing the
Gospel and the Eucharist to this group of people. All people
interested in participating in this ministry are given training
and materiAloysius and are eventually invited to provide services
at local healthcare facilities or if it is their desire, to
visit people at home.
If you are interested in becoming involved, or if you would
like to request our services for yourself or a family member,
please call the parish office at
732-370-0500.
There are many ways which a person might become more active
in liturgical ministries. Some opportunities for volunteering
are in music ministry, as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar
servers (for youth in 5th grade and up), Ushers, Hospitality
and in the area of Arts, Environment, and Liturgy Preparation.
If you have a gift that you would like to share with your community
in the context of our worship together, please call the parish
office at 732-370-0500.
A prayer and faith sharing group for all those who have made a Cursillo weekend. Cursillo is a weekend retreat where people encounter Christ on a deeper level. If you are interested in participating in a Cursillo weekend, please call the parish office. The Ultreya meetings take place on each 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 8:00 - 9:30 PM in the Parish Office.
Worship Ministry ~
Use your gifts to Praise Him! Sing to Him a new song; play
skillfully, and shout for joy. Psalm 33:3 (NIV)
At St. Aloysius, we believe that praise and worship are an active,
dynamic, integral link between God and His people. This ministry seeks
to serve Him humbly in a spirit of excellence through music and to
lead others into His presence so that we glorify God as one body with
one voice through one Spirit. Opportunities to be a part of this
ministry are available for those gifted with musical ability who have
the desire to serve.
