Change a Life Uganda

Change A Life Uganda - We are delighted that the letters from sponsored children in Uganda have finally arrived. They will be mailed to sponsors shortly. Our 2015 trip to Uganda is scheduled for June 25 through July 19. We invite sponsors and anyone interested in experiencing how St. Aloysius ChangeALife Ministry is changing the lives of children and families, to join Fr. Bambrick, Paul Scalzo, Jean Semler and her husband Dave on this year’s trip . A safari is also an option. Return date is flexible depending on your available time. Call Jean for details 732-833-1736.

Lastly, we still have children on the wait list for sponsors, like 12 year old Marvin who is intelligent and humble. He lives with his aging parents and seven siblings in a grass thatched house. His father burns charcoal from deep in the village which he sells in the nearby trading center. Marvin and his siblings miss school in the first months of the term because of school fees. Please consider sponsoring Marvin so he can realize his dream of becoming a lawyer.

Asaph is hard working and enjoys going to school. He lives with his parents in one room that they rent in their small town. Asaph’s parents do small jobs such as loading and off loading charcoal and collecting water to support the family. His father can’t afford to send some of Asaph’s siblings to school although they are of school age. Please consider sponsoring Asaph so he can realize his dream of becoming a doctor.

Aerial View of the Change A Life Program in Migyera

We just received this arial view of our program in Migyera.  You can see the school and the 10 acres of land behind the school which will eventually be the site of our new dining hall, library and administrative block followed by a ChangeALife Uganda secondary school according to the dream of Fr. Lawrence.  As the view rotates the health center, the priest’s house and the church comes into view.  When we started there was no health center, church and only a substandard two block school. It’s been a journey…thanks to all of you for helping make it happen for these children and their families.
